I will spend about one hour with you (which is open to either end - we want to get the right shots). My style is not intrusive, so although I might give you slight directions about where to stand or sit, the rest will just be free flow and easy going. It's all about you being comfortable and enjoying the process.
Newborns and Babies
For newborns and young babies I usually recommend doing the shoot at your own home. It's the place where you will feel the most comfortable at this stage of your child's life. I will come to your house at a time to suit you but as we need daylight it will be between 9 am and 4 pm in winter/6 pm in summer. You know your little one best so you tell me what is the best time.
Usually, the shoot includes the mother, father or another family member. We can also include other children into the shoot if you so wish.
Toddlers and Children of all ages
Most children will feel more at ease if the pictures are taken in familiar surroundings or are part of a great day out as a family. Most families find that a visit to a great house, fabulous park or farm is a wonderful way to have their pictures taken in a natural setting. Pictures taken at your home work just as well and especially are a good approach if the child (or children) is a little bit shy.
Pregnancy photos
There is a wide range of styles for maternity photography. Semi-nude with draped sheets is very artful and fashionable, however, it might feel too uncomfortable for you. I find that most women feel better and enjoy the shoot more if they wear clothes. I cater for both styles and usually a pre-shoot chat will help to define what you want out of a shoot.
Portraits
Whether it is to mark a special occassion, whether it's just you, or with a friend, partner or fiance - a photo shoot is a great way to celebrate who you are and to feel good about yourself. It not only boosts your confidence but the resulting photos are also a great way to remember a special time in your life. You choose your outfit(s), we discuss locations and styles. And the rest is just about having a good time. I even bring a flask of tea!
